Car Insurance
The law requires that adequate insurance is needed for any motor vehicles that are used on the road. You need insurance to obtain vehicle tax and could face a fine and points on your driving license if you are caught driving without adequate vehicle insurance.
Third Party Insurance
This is the most basic type of insurance that you are required to have by law. It is the cheapest type of car insurance but will only pay for damage to the other cars involved in any accident, not your own. This can be a good option if the vehicle you want to insure is not worth very much.
Third Party Plus Fire and Theft Insurance
This type of insurance is similar to third party (above) with the addition that the vehicle is insured in case of it being stolen or catching on fire.
Fully Comprehensive Insurance
Fully comp, as it is often referred to, is the most expensive type of insurance. It covers for damage to your vehicle plus others involved in an accident, as well as covering you for fire and theft.
To Find Cheap Car Insurance
Always shop around to try to get the best deal to suit you. The Internet provides a great resource where it is usually easy to compare quotes from many different insurers and then find the cheapest. If finding an insurer on the Internet is not viable for you, you can contact them by telephone. Always read details of any policy carefully before committing yourself.
